Ogun Commences PIN Verification Exercise For Civil/Public Servants - The Alternative News


 

Following the full implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), effective Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the Ogun State Government has invited the Pension Funds Administrators (PFAs) to conduct a crucial Personal Identification Number (PIN) verification exercise to all Civil and Public Servants in the State.



Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya disclosed this during the verification exercise at Obas complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, stating that the exercise was important for the Civil Servants in order to get their retirement benefits after retirement.



He said the exercise which started Friday, July 25 would end on Thursday, July 31, 2025, to resolve the issues of invalid or unrecognised PINs, dual or multiple PINs, No PIN and need for data recapturing, explaining that all Civil/Public servants records must be intact. HoS noted that without the PIN, they would not be enrolled and would be denied their retirement benefits.



Mr. Onasanya enjoined all Civil Servants to participate in the verification exercise, saying that it was fundamental towards the effective implementation of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).



Speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of State Pensions, Mrs. Arinola Adetayo, appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for ensuring transparency, accountability and sustainability of Pension Funds Administrators (PFAs) in Ogun State.



She revealed that under the Contributory Pension Scheme, five parties were involved to include the employer, employee, Pension Funds Administrators, Pension Funds Custodians and National Pension Commission, adding that the State Government was committed to the full implementation the scheme.



Adetayo stated that the money deducted from Civil/Public servants account would be remitted to various Retired Savings Account as and when due, noting that the present administration would continue to cater for the welfare of the Civil/Public servants.



On his part, State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Hammed Benco, commended worker’s turnout, appreciating the State Government for fulfilling their promises, few days after the inauguration of Pension Funds Management Committee.



In their separate remarks, representatives of Pension Funds Administrators, Mr.  Adeshina Isaac of Access ARM Pension and Mr. Oluwatosin Abiodun of Trust fund Pension said some complaints have been attended to while some would be done at their offices.



Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr. Gafar Ajao and Mrs. Adeola Adebajo said it was a stress free exercise, commending the State Government for the promise made, promise kept.



Pension Funds Administrators present at the verification exercise were; Trustfund, Crusader, OAK, AccessARM, Apt Tangerine, Leadway, PAL, Veritas, among others.
