Foreign Affairs Ministry Announces Death of Nigeria’s Consul-General in Cameroon, Ambassador Coker - The Alternative News

 


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the sudden passing of Ambassador Taofik Obasanjo Coker, Nigeria’s Consul-General in Buea, Republic of Cameroon.

According to a statement released by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Ambassador Coker died on Saturday, August 16, after a brief illness.

Describing him as a dedicated and hardworking diplomat, Ebienfa noted that Coker served Nigeria with “distinction, commitment, and professionalism” throughout his career.

“His untimely death is a great loss to the diplomatic community and the nation at large,” the statement read.

Before his appointment as Consul-General in Buea, Ambassador Coker had previously represented Nigeria in various capacities at the country’s Missions in Conakry, Guinea, and Shanghai, China.

The Ministry extended its condolences to his family, colleagues, and friends, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
