Troops of Sector 2 under have successfully repelled a terrorist attack and rescued 15 kidnapped victims in Marge community, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The development was disclosed on Sunday in a post by North-West crisis reporter, in the North-West region, Bakatsine, via his X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to the report, the operation followed credible intelligence on the presence of armed terrorists in Marge, prompting troops to swiftly mobilise to the area. Upon arrival, security forces engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to retreat into nearby bushes under sustained military pressure while abandoning their captives.

Military sources confirmed that the operation was carried out without any casualties among the troops. All 15 rescued victims have since been safely reunited with their families.

This latest success comes less than 24 hours after troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA foiled another kidnapping attempt in Surimi, a border community between  and , where four abducted victims were rescued during a similar intelligence-driven mission.

Operation FANSAN YAMMA has continued to intensify coordinated offensives across the North-West region as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist and kidnapping networks and restore lasting peace in vulnerable communities.
