The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027, inviting qualified civilians and serving military personnel to apply.

According to a recruitment notice issued by the Army, successful candidates will serve in the Combat Arms, including the Infantry and Armour Corps, as well as Combat Support Arms such as Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.

The Army said the recruitment is open to eligible Nigerian citizens who meet its stipulated academic, physical and medical requirements.

Applicants are required to meet specified age, educational and other eligibility conditions, while successful candidates will undergo the Army’s selection and training processes.

The Army stated that the SSCC commission would run for 15 years, with an initial 10-year period on the active list. The commission may subsequently be renewed for a period not exceeding five years, subject to applicable conditions.

The Army also noted that SSCC officers may have an opportunity to convert to the Regular Combatant Commission, but stressed that such conversion is not automatic and would depend on vacancies and other applicable criteria.

The application process is stated to be free of charge.

The Nigerian Army urged members of the public to beware of fraudulent recruitment websites and announcements, advising prospective applicants to rely only on information published through official Nigerian Army channels.
