Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has once again reinforced the critical role of traditional institutions in fostering comprehensive grassroots development by the elevation of deserving chieftaincy positions as evidenced in the installation and presentation of the staff of office to Coronet Oba Haruna Dosunmu Odusanya, the Onipetedo of Petedo Kingdom in the Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

The event, which took place at Petedo town, where the Governor said his administration was committed to ensuring holistic development at the grassroots level. He said "We recognise that traditional institutions and their leadership must be strategically positioned as a conduit between grassroots communities and the government to foster continuous development’’.

Represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Hamzat, The Governor commended the community's resilience throughout the process of upgrading to a coronet Oba, assured them of the enduring legacy set by the integrity of the process, which aligned with the Obas and Chiefs Law of Ogun State, 2021, as well as the customs and traditions of the Petedo Community, urging the community to support the new Oba.

Also, in a related event, Oba Alade Quzeem Omobukola, was also installed as Coronet, Alado of Paramole in Ado-Odo/Ota, where the Governor, who was also represented by the Commissioner, appalauded the Paramole community for maintaining peace and called for continued support and respect for the new Oba. He reiterated the importance of adhering to the State's Land Grabbing Law and encouraged compliance with existing regulations to support government initiatives.

Speaking during the event also, Hon. Chairman of Ado Odo Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale, highlighted that the elevation to coronet status was a call to service.

"I urge the Obas to mobilise both human and material resources to ensure the rapid socio-economic development of their domains," he stated.

In his goodwill message, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewa land, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, conveyed his gratitude through the Olu of Imasayi, Oba Lukman Adeleke.

 Similarly, the Olofin of Ado Odo, Oba Idris Osolo, expressed his appreciation through the Aro of Ado Odo, High Chief Gafar Adeleke, as both leaders thanked the present administration for the elevation and urged the newly appointed Obas to prepare diligently for the responsibilities ahead.
