Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has commended the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), for their collaborative efforts to ensure safety of learners around the school system across the State, describing it as an initiative of National interest.

Prof. Arigbabu, gave the commendations during the visit of the PCRC to his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, appreciating them for their voluntary selfless service towards transforming and modelling of learners' behaviour across all levels of education in the State.

The Commissioner said the immoral and unruly behaviour perpetrated by some learners in schools could be as a result of bad upbringing, noting that parents should educate their wards on moral principles, normalcy and peaceful co-existence which would prevail within the school system.

He noted that security matters remained a collective duty of everyone, hence, it became necessary for all stakeholders that included, government, parents, school owners, teachers and community leaders to cooperate with the Federal Government on its quest towards securing the lives and property of the citizens.

Speaking, Chairman of PCRC, Ogun State Chapter, Comrade Abdullah Lawal, said the visit was a commitment to building a stronger partnership between the community and the Education Ministry towards ensuring that schools remained safe, secured and conducive for learning and development.
