The member representing Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives, Donald Ojogo, has distributed 4,500 bags of rice to constituents.
Ojogo said the gesture was aimed at providing relief to households across Ilaje and Ese Odo Local Government Areas.
In a statement on Monday, the lawmaker said the rice was secured through his collaboration with the National Productivity Centre in Abuja.
The distribution took place at Teachers Hall, Okoga, Igbokoda, in Ilaje Local Government Area, with beneficiaries drawn from communities across the two local government areas.
Ojogo said the intervention was part of his efforts to ensure that opportunities available through federal institutions translated into tangible benefits for his constituents.
“This intervention is part of my efforts to ensure that opportunities available through federal institutions are translated into tangible benefits for the people,” he said.
“The rice is secured through my facilitation with the National Productivity Centre in Abuja.”
The lawmaker also called on his constituents to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration and prioritise his re-election in 2027.
“The re-election of President Bola Tinubu is paramount to us in Ondo State. I want to call on our people to support the president’s re-election in 2027 for us to continue enjoying the good things the president is doing for us in Ondo State and Nigeria in general,” he said.
A former member of the House of Representatives, Kolade Akinjo, who chaired the occasion, commended the intervention, describing it as a demonstration of concern for the welfare of constituents.
Akinjo said interventions that directly affected the lives of constituents should be encouraged.
The distribution was witnessed by constituents and community stakeholders, while beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture.
