The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has presented letters of placement to another 200 Teach For Nigeria (TFN), Fellows for a two-year teaching and mentoring engagement.

Speaking during the event at the Board’s Conference room, State Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Chairman of the Board, Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, emphasised the importance of competence, commitment and readiness to serve, noting that previous TFN Fellows had distinguished themselves through their contributions to schools and communities.

  He noted that he recognised the competences and ability inherent in SUBEB, urging the new Fellows to surpass the achievements of their predecessors and make the Board proud.

Ifede, encouraged the Fellows to accept their postings and work closely with headteachers, teachers and members of their host communities. He also advised them to apply for the OgunTeach internship programme and participate in any relevant examinations, noting that former TFN Fellows who made use of  such opportunities were eventually deployed to work with the government on a permanent basis.

The SUBEB Boss further urged the Fellows to initiate programmes that would benefit their schools and communities, while carrying the school management along.

Also speaking, Permanent Member I, Barr. Femi Odufowokan, encouraged the Fellows to sustain their good work, remain organised and be focused in order to raise the standard of teaching in their respective schools.

      Earlier, the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Femi Fatade, charged the Fellows to demonstrate discipline, commitment, passion and professionalism in the classroom, urging them to be good teachers, role models and worthy ambassadors of Teach For Nigeria.

Speaking on behalf of the Fellows, Mosunmola Oladipupo, appreciated the State Government for giving them the opportunity to serve, promising that they would remain consistent, committed and uphold the core values of TFN and make the Board proud.
