The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has received its newly appointed Board Secretary, Mrs. Olubunmi Oso, assuring her of maximum cooperation and support of the Board, management and staff.

Speaking during a reception at the Board’s Conference Room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Chairman of SUBEB, Evang. Olalekan Ifede, described the Board as one big family and urged Oso to prepare for the task ahead.

Ifede, assured the new Secretary of the Board’s support, noting that the workforce at SUBEB had the capacity and experience to work with her in taking the Board to greater heights, advising her to take time to understand the staff and the workings of Board.

The SUBEB boss attributed the successes recorded by the Board to the peace and unity  existing among its management and staff, saying that Osho’s contribution would be critical to complementing the Board’s efforts to ensure that every learner in Public Primary Schools across the State could read, write and communicate effectively.

He admonished the new Secretary to work closely and humbly with the Directors to achieve the desired results.

“Whenever you get to a place, acceptability comes first. No matter how intelligent you are or how much expertise you have, you need to be calm and humble for them to accept you and work with you with all sincerity,” Ifede said.

Also speaking, Permanent Member II of the board, Hon. Isiaka Aderounmu, congratulated Oso on her appointment, saying that the Directors at the Board were experienced and capable of making her assignment easier.

Earlier, the Director, Administration and Supplies, Mr. Femi Fatade, described Oso’s appointment as the beginning of a new chapter in the administration of the Board, expressing confidence that SUBEB would benefit from her wealth of experience, leadership qualities and administrative expertise.

Responding, the newly appointed Board Secretary, Mrs. Oso, expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity and appealed to the        Directors for transparency, support and cooperation, pledging to work with the management and staff to ensure that the goals and objectives of the Board were achieved.
