Troops of the Nigerian Army under the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have reportedly neutralised 16 terrorists and recovered arms and ammunition during coordinated operations in Adamawa State.
The Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Maiduguri, Mohammed Goni, disclosed this in a post on the Nigerian Army’s X handle on Thursday.
According to Goni, the operations, conducted between September 30 and October 1, 2026, covered the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area and other locations within Sector 4 Area of Operations.
In Boima, troops reportedly ambushed a terrorist enclave, neutralising 16 terrorists.
A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one Dane gun, six AK-47 magazines and a belt of pump-action cartridges.
The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI also conducted a precision air strike on October 1 after an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform detected about 16 terrorists gathered with 15 motorcycles under a tree canopy in Sector 4.
According to the military, the target was identified and engaged in a precision strike at about 5:30 a.m.
A subsequent battle damage assessment reportedly confirmed that the target had been destroyed.
The military added that some surviving terrorists fled the area.
