Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has paid tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, on what would have been his seventh birthday, expressing his enduring love for the deceased child.

Ifeanyi was born on October 20, 2019, to Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke. He would have turned seven on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

The singer took to social media to commemorate the occasion, expressing how much he and Chioma continue to miss their son.

“Happy birthday son …. Me and mommy miss and love you! Keep flying high,” Davido wrote.

Ifeanyi died on October 31, 2022, at the age of three, after drowning in a swimming pool at the family’s residence in Lagos.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the cause of death following an autopsy conducted on the child.

The then police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, told PUNCH at the time, “Autopsy has been concluded. It confirms the boy (Ifeanyi) drowned.”

Ifeanyi’s death sparked widespread grief, with fans, fellow entertainers and other public figures expressing condolences and solidarity with Davido and Chioma over the tragic loss.
