Keep Supporting to Deliver Effective Service, HOS Tells Workers - The Alternative News

 



The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka has charged the members of Staff of the Bureau of State Pensions and by extension all the workers to keep supporting his mission to deliver an effective and efficient public service to the entire populace of the State.

The Head of Service gave the charge at a gathering in honour of two retiring members, Ms. Iyabo Kuforiji and Mr. Mohammed Liyide, of the Bureau of State Pensions, Office of the Head of Service, held at the Bureau's premises, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

According to him, encouragement is required to appreciate those who are diligent, committed and hardworking, as the service has gone pass the era of been bossy but in an era of relevance, quality and efficient service delivery.

He commended the retiring officers for making diligence, efficiency and effectiveness their watchwords and charged others to emulate the values they exhibited that made them worthy of the honour done them, and added that the reward of hard work is more work.

The Head of Service appreciated the Permanent Secretary in the Bureau, Mrs. Arinola Adetayo for the quality leadership she's providing and all the members of Staff for not disappointing him and pleaded for more support for the Perm Sec and patience for the retirees they are constantly relating with.

"The retirees were known for diligence, efficiency and effectiveness and it is not out of place for me to have identified with them. Thank you for not disappointing me and thank you for delivering accurately. Keep supporting my mission to deliver an effective service and keep supporting your PS. I am so proud of you", the Head of Service said.

On his part, the Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Mr. Jola Oyeneye appreciated the retirees for writing their names in gold and urged others to embark on things of legacies that they would be remembered for, and that the Service would be better for.

On her part, the host Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Adetayo, appreciated the retirees for contributing their quotas to the development of the State without any blemish, as their dedication, commitment and good leadership styles stood them out for celebration, and urged the serving officers to continue to work diligently and effectively.

In separate tributes, staffs of the Bureau, Mr. Babajide Macjob, Mrs. Desola Dina and Mr. Olusola Tejuoso as well as a family member, Engr. Odunlami Kuforiji described the retirees as thorough bred professionals, who held discipline and hardwork in high esteem but very compassionate and unassuming and urged serving officers to move from the ordinary to perfection.

Earlier in a welcome address, the Director, Administration and Supplies, Mrs. Funmi Oshodi, said the officers were worth celebrating as  35 years of active service was no mean feat to achieve.

Responding, the retiring Director, Ms. Iyabo Kuforiji and a data analyst, Mr. Mohammed Liyide, whose joys knew no bounds appreciated God for sparing their lives, the Head of Service for his presence and support as well as the Bureau for the soft landing, and pinned all successes recorded to God's benevolence.
