SOJ ABEOKUTA ZONE FEEDS THE POOR DURING RAMADAN

 


As its usual practice, Sisters of Jannah nationwide engaged in the *RAMADAN CARE PROJECT* with this year's theme tagged : "FEED TO EASE RAMADAN" consequently to the prevailing economic hardship being experienced in the country at the moment.


Sisters of Jannah, Abeokuta Zone concluded the 2nd phase on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024 at *Makinde Araromi Mosque*, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State, where more than 100 worshipers were served Iftar (Muslim breaking of fast) at the mosque.


The first phase was carried out at the old FUNAAB CENTRAL MOSQUE, Nepa road, Abeokuta, packages consisting of rice, beans, garri, yam flour, palm oil, seasoning amongst others were distributed to 70 families.


Appreciating the donors, the Chairperson, Ramadan Committee, Mrs Alli Rashidat, noted that it was a fulfilling moment when you know Allah SWT in his mercy chose you to put smiles on people's faces which has been the practice of SOJ from inception. She thanked the committee members for their relentless efforts and dedication towards the project.


Coordinator of the zone, Mrs Aminu Sherifat, in her remarks appreciated the efforts of all members who have been very supportive both financially and physically. In her words, 'I cannot but thank you all for your unwavering support and commitment to this our humble SOJ goal, Abeokuta Zone has always been a force to reckoned, may Allah SWT continue to strengthen us and accept our act of worship. My profound  gratitude to our external donors, thank you for always heeding to our call, may Allah SWT accept it as an act of ibadah' she said.


Third and final phase of the RAMADAN CARE PROJECT will take place during the last week of Ramadan.
