Following the commencement of indefinite strike declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, activities in the National Assembly have been grounded.
It was reported that the he second gate to the complex has been blocked with two 16-seater buses, and also the gate to annex building which would have been the alternative entrance for workers was blocked with officials of both unions on ground to implement and monitor the strike.
Workers of the National Assembly who were denied entrance could be seen in clusters discussing the development.
Reported that none of the identified officials of both Unions refused to speak with journalist as they claimed to lack powers to speak with the press.
They advised journalists to contact presidents of both unions to attend to their inquiries
Recall that the leadership of NLC and TUC met with the leadership of the NASS on Sunday to resolve the minimum wage impasse without success.
