It was gathered that the operatives, suspected to be from the Department of State Services, fired sporadically at protesters who were reconvening after an initial dispersal.

As protesters ran for cover, some security operatives chased them into nearby bushes. Meanwhile, other masked operatives targeted journalists who were reporting from a separate location.

It was reported that bullets pierced a car conveying journalists from Premium Times, The Cable, Peoples Gazette, and The PUNCH at three different locations.
