The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, gave the commendation, while playing host to the officials from the State Command of Immigration Service, led by the Comptroller, Grace Olaitan Adeoye, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Rt. Hon. Elemide, who noted that there had been improvement in the process of the issuance of the Nigerian passport and other services being rendered by the organisation, acknowledged their roles in the promotion of peace and security in all parts of the state, especially along the border areas, promising that the Assembly would continue to partner with it in enhancing its operations in the State.

In their remarks, Honourables Wahab Haruna, Fola Salami and the Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff, lauded the achievements of the Command, soliciting a more proactive intervention in curbing illegal activities of some foreigners around the border areas, to strengthen security along the border communities.

Earlier, Comptroller Adeoye sought collaboration between the state government and the Command to complement its operations, recalling the repatriation of about 22 Beninese, who were constituting nuisance in some local government areas in the state, among other similar cases handled by the Command, to rid the state of illegal immigrants.
