TRACE WARNS MOTORISTS AGAINST OBSTRUCTION OF FREE FLOW OF TRAFFIC - The Alternative News

Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) has warned motorists not to obstruct free flow of traffic, particularly at various filling stations across the state.

Commander and Chief Executive Officer of TRACE, Commander ‘Seni Ogunyemi stated this during an interview with journalists in Abeokuta, saying the agency had been organising sensitisation programmes for motorists towards putting a stop to indiscriminate parking among other act of lawless behaviour, notable with queuing patterns of vehicles at various filling station.

Commander Ogunyemi said officers and men of the agency were working round the clock to enforce compliance and ensure that anyone found culpable blocking flow of traffic or parking indiscriminately while trying to get fuel at the filling stations would face the wrath of the law.

“Some motorists are using this current fuel scarcity to obstruct free flow of traffic. The funny aspect of it is that they even follow one way to move ahead of others to get fuel quickly. This is against the law and any traffic offender, especially One-Way driving violators will pay fine and visit psychiatric hospital for the offence”, he said.

The Commander called on motorists not to use queues at filling stations as an excuse of disobeying traffic laws but be orderly and consider others plying the roads.
