President Bola Tinubu has said that his administration has ordered for mechanized farming equipment including, tractors and planters worth billions of Naira from the United States, Belarus, and Brazil to boost agriculture.
Tinubu made the confirmation while addressing Nigerians during the National broadcast on Sunday morning amidst ongoing protests, saying more than 10 million hectares of land is targeting to grow agricultural products as federal government will provide all necessary incentives for the initiative.
According to him, "I have been meeting with our Governors and key Ministers to accelerate food production and we have distributed fertilizers to grow what we eat".
He enjoined the protesters and the organizers to suspend the protest and create room for dialogue, which this administration has always acceded to at the slightest opportunity, calling for the cooperation and support of all and sundry in reshaping the destiny of the country, regardless of age, political party, tribe, and religion.
