In preparation towards November 16, 2024 Local Government Election, the Chairman, Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, OGSIEC, Babatunde Osibodu has assured all political parties in the state a level playing ground in the forthcoming election.

Osibodu gave the assurance during a stakeholders' meeting with all political parties in the state held at the Commission's Premises, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, urging them to ensure that their campaigns are devoid of violence and rancorous incidents.

While explaining the essence of the meeting, which was to foster further collaboration and open dialogue between the commission and all political parties in the state, the Chairman said, "We believe that by working together, we can create an inclusive and transparent electoral system that truly represents the Will of the people. As we gear up for this forthcoming election, it is vital that we maintain highest level of integrity, fairness, and professionalism," he said.

The OGSIEC boss appreciated the political parties for their presence, adding that the commission would ensure free, fair, credible, and peaceful election.

According to him, "Your inputs and cooperation in all stages of electoral process from voters registration to voting, and to results collation would be Instrumental to the success of this election. 

"I want to encourage each political party to engage in discussions, raise concerns and provide constructive feedbacks during this parley. 

"Your valuable suggestions will help us to further strengthening our election system and address any existing challenges."

He assured that the votes would be counted and announced in each polling unit manually, adding that maximum security would be guaranteed during, before, and after the exercise
