Dozens of walkie talkies have exploded across Lebanon on Wednesday, a day after coordinated blasts targeting the pagers of Hezbollah members injured thousands, New telegraph reports.

A security source confirmed that between 15 and 20 explosions occurred in the southern suburbs of Beirut, with an additional 15 to 20 blasts reported in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese Army issued a warning via social media platform X, urging citizens to avoid gathering in areas affected by the explosions to allow medical teams to reach those in need.

Tuesday’s pager explosions, which Hezbollah has attributed to Israel, killed multiple people and injured thousands, prompting the militant group to vow retaliation.

The nearly simultaneous detonations of the devices have heightened tensions in Lebanon as the region braces for Hezbollah’s response to the unprecedented attacks.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances behind the incidents, as security concerns grow amid Hezbollah’s calls for “fair punishment” for the alleged Israeli strikes.
