Fani-Kayode's Aide Death: Hotel Manager, Receptionist Arrested - The Alternative News

An ‘adopted son’ of former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has died in an Abuja hotel.

Fani-Kayode revealed details surrounding the sudden death of his long-serving aide, Ndifreke Saviour Mark, who passed away in a hotel in Abuja on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

In a statement on his social media accounts, Fani-Kayode described the 52-year-old Ndifreke Mark, who served him for 34 years as his “most trusted aide.”

He explained that Ndifreke attended a morning church service at the Catholic Church of Assumption in Asokoro before heading to Mildy Lodge and Apartments in Garki, Abuja, where the tragic incident occurred.

According to Fani-Kayode, Mark slumped and died in the presence of an unidentified individual he had taken to the hotel.

The former Minister confirmed that Ndifreke was rushed to Asokoro District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Fani-Kayode noted that the police were conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of Ndifreke’s death.

As part of the investigation, the individual who was with Ndifreke at the time has been arrested with the receptionist and the manager of the hotel.

The hotel room where Ndifreke collapsed has been sealed by police.

Expressing his sorrow, Fani-Kayode shared that he had informed Ndifreke’s family, including his wife, Barrister Patience Ndifreke-Mark, of his commitment to seeking justice.

He also assured them of his continued support during this difficult time.

In his emotional tribute, Fani-Kayode reflected on the close bond he shared with Ndifreke, whom he regarded as a son, and vowed to ensure that justice is served if foul play is discovered.

“Mark was like a son to me, and his passing is a huge blow to me and my entire family. I have absolute confidence in the FCT Police Command to get to the bottom of this matter, after which we can proceed to bury a man who was my most loyal staff and trusted aide,” Fani-Kayode said.

All efforts to get the reaction of FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, were futile. She is yet to respond to calls and messages put across.
