Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State has inaugurated 11 Councillors , for  effective take-off of the ninth legislative Council.

     Speaking during the proclamation, which took place at the Senator Odebiyi Legislative Chamber, Ayetoro, headquarters of the Council, the Chairman, Dr.Olusola Akinbode charged the elected Councillors, to keep the flag flying and be up to the task by be of good representation for their various wards.

      The Chairman noted that the legislators have been found worthy, which necessitated them to be elected as councillors, charging them to make bye laws that would engender growth of socio-economic development  of the grassroots.

       He thanked the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the people for giving them opportunity to serve, promising  to continue to deliver  dividends of democracy across nooks and crannies of the council area.

      While administering the oath and allegiance of the office, Magistrate Busayo Abdulsalam congratulated the Councillors, urging them to be of good behaviour and to see their election as a call to serve good people of Yewa North.

      In his Acceptance Speech, Leader of the House, Hon. Stephen Adeogun, said the ninth Legislative Council is ready to work for the development of their areas, foster inclusivity and progress, while carrying out their constitutional duties, assuring that transparency and accountability would be their watchword.

       The principal officers of the Council include, Leader, Hon. Stephen Adeogun(Ebute Ward), Deputy Leader,  Hon Yusuf Falana(Imasai Ward), Majority Leader, Hon. Naimu Olaleye(Ayetoro 1 Ward 2), Chief Whif, Hon David Opeifa(Eggua Ward)

     Others are, Hon. Gafar Olailo(Idofoi Ward), Hon. Ebenezer Odebo(Ayetoro 2 Ward 3), Hon. Lateef Shittu(Sunwa Ward),  Hon David Opeifa(Eggua Ward), Hon.Adegboyega Adebayo(Joga/Iboro Ward), Hon.Rasheed Alase(Ijoun Ward), Hon.Julius Adeniyi(Ibese/Igbogila Ward).
