The Youth Development Association, Iranlowo Oluwa, Abiola-Way, in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State organized new Year fiesta, has commissioned a solar project as part of activities for its New Year Fiesta. 

The project, which includes the installation of four solar panels, was aimed at contributing to the development of the community. 

Addressing the youths at the maiden edition of the event, the Baale of Surulere Parapo, Abiola-Way, High Chief Sakirudeen Akingbade described the initiative as a welcome development, saying the role of the youth in nation building cannot be over-emphasised.

Akingbade urged the youths to shun drug abuse, armed robbery, ritual, thuggery, rape, fraud among other social vices, saying such acts were capable of destroying their future. 

Speaking, the Chairman of the community, Esv Adeolu Adejimi noted that unity, cooperation, and harmony were crucial to the success and progress of any community, enjoining them not to relent in embarking on good developmental initiatives that would complement the efforts of the Community Development Association.

In their separate sermons, Imam Jubril Adesina and Pastor Daniel Adegbite urged the youth to continue living in peace and intensify their efforts in making the community peaceful.

Responding, the Youth Leader, Mr Dauda Olatunji appreciated the Exco and the elders in the community for their unflinching financial and moral support for all the initiatives of the youths.

Highlights of the event include gaming such as Aayo Olopon, Ludo, Draft, WHOT, Dancing, Boxing among others.
