As part of efforts to ensure qualitative teaching in Public Secondary Schools, the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), has commenced an unscheduled monitoring exercise to some secondary schools in the State.

The Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi, who led the monitoring team to Imala Grammar School, Imala; Idi-Emi High School, Idi-Emi; Olorunda Community High School, Olorunda and Army Day Secondary School, Alamala, all in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, said teaching and non-teaching staff were crucial to the realisation of the present administration's mandate in the provision of quality education.

Ogunremi added that, dedication of the teaching staff at their duty posts would impact positively on the academic performances of learners, assuring that the agency would not relent in putting the teaching and non-teaching staff at vantage positions through training and retraining, adequate welfare package, proper renumerations, and many more for improved productivity.

She urged the management and others in the schools visited to ensure team work, in order to achieve a common goal, charging them to take their jobs seriously and adhere to rudiments of the teaching profession.

”I want to encourage the Principal and teachers in the State Public secondary schools to continue to be hardworking, ensure up-to-date lesson notes and endeavour to fill the movement register, so as to earn the desired reward appropriately”, the Permanent Secretary said.

In their separate responses, the Principals, Imala Grammar School, Imala and Olorunda Community High School, Olorunda, Mr. Adekunle Yusuff and Mrs. Modupe Adeosun, respectively, commended the giant strides of the commission towards improving the teaching landscape for optimum service delivery in secondary schools.
