Amosun expresses sadness over passing of Olootu Ogooluwa Bankole

Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed his deep sadness and shock over the passing of Olootu Ogooluwa Bankole, a renowned industrialist and businessman.

Olootu Bankole, who died today, Tuesday, 18 February, 2025 at the age of 77 years, will be remembered for making significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Ogun State and Nigeria.

Amosun, in a statement on Tuesday, praised Bankole's remarkable achievements, particularly the establishment of Premier Paints PLC, the first indigenous paints company to be listed on the Nigeria Stock Exchange.

He also highlighted Bankole's exceptional leadership skills, hard work, dedication, and selflessness, which played a crucial role in the success of Premier Paints PLC over the past 40 years.

"Olootu Bankole's commitment to education was also notable, as evidenced by his establishment of Mercyland International School in Abeokuta. Through this institution, he helped shape the minds of future generations and instilled values that would make them responsible members of society.

"As an illustrious son of Owuland and a respected community leader, Bankole's passion and dedication to the progress of Owuland, Ibogunland, Egbaland, and Gbagura will be deeply missed."

Amosun prayed to God to grant Olootu Ogooluwa Bankole eternal rest and to give his family the strength to bear his irreparable loss.
