The Permanent Secretary of the Ogun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, has lauded the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) for its pivotal role in enhancing security and supporting other law enforcement agencies across the state.
Dr. Akinlesi gave the commendation during an inspection visit to the So-Safe Corps Headquarters in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.
He emphasised the Corps' significant contributions to the maintenance of peace and order, which had been instrumental to the promotion of safety of lives and property and had invariably helped in fostering socio-economic growth in Ogun State.
"The So-Safe Corps has been instrumental in ensuring the peaceful atmosphere we enjoy in the state. As the supervisory Ministry, we will continue to support the Corps in creating a conducive environment for officers to excel in their various deployments," he said.
He added that the Corps' activities in securing the State were commendable and have positively impacted the State’s development.
Remarking, State Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Commander Dr. Soji Ganzallo, expressed gratitude to the State Government and the Ministry for their unwavering support, saying that the recent renovations at the Headquarters have enhanced operational efficiency of the Corps.
Commander Ganzallo reiterated the Corps' commitment to crime prevention through community engagement, orientation, and sensitisation programmes, noting that the Corps would not rest on its oars but would continue to train and retrain officers, equipping them with modern techniques for tracking, preventing, and investigating crimes.
He appealed to the chairmen of the 20 Local Government Areas in the State, to assist the Corps by providing necessary logistics to ensure the safety of lives and property within their jurisdictions.
