2025 Hajj: Ogun League of Imams and Alfas Charges Pilgrims on Righteous Living Upon Return - The Alternative News

The Ogun State League of Imams and Alfas has urged Muslim pilgrims who participated in the just-concluded 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah to return home with renewed spiritual commitment and uphold righteous living as a reflection of their sacred journey.

In a statement signed by the Secretary General of the League, Alhaji Tajudeen Adewunmi, the body expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the pilgrims a successful and safe Hajj experience.

“May Allah accept their Hajj as Hājj Mabroor and make it a source of spiritual elevation and steadfastness in faith,” Adewunmi prayed.

He reminded the pilgrims that Hajj goes beyond fulfilling a religious obligation, it is a transformative journey, calling on returnees to become ambassadors of Islamic values and piety in their homes and communities.

“Let your character, discipline, and devotion to Islamic principles reflect the spiritual lessons of Hajj. You are now ambassadors of faith and models of righteous conduct,” he added.

Alhaji Adewunmi also extended warm greetings to Muslims across Ogun State, Nigeria, and the world on the occasion of the Hijrah 1447 A.H. He described the new year as a time for renewal, reflection, and recommitment to the values of unity, perseverance, and faith.

“We pray that this new year brings peace, progress, and divine mercy upon the Ummah and our beloved nation,” he stated.

The League expressed deep appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the 2025 Hajj operations. Alhaji Adewunmi particularly thanked Governor Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering support of religious programs and his commitment to the welfare of Ogun State pilgrims.

He also commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for its effective coordination of Hajj activities, and applauded the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, including its Chairman and members, for their dedication, meticulous planning, and supervision throughout the pilgrimage exercise.
