The Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) has announced that all 16 governorship candidates participating in the 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election must pay a ₦50 million statutory campaign fee before launching their campaign activities across the state.

The agency’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Tony Ujubuonu, made the disclosure during a press conference in Awka on Wednesday. He stated that the payment grants political parties the right to deploy campaign materials, including posters, billboards, branded vehicles, T-shirts, caps, fliers, banners, rallies, and more, across Anambra’s 21 local government areas.

 “The permit comes with a statutory fee of Fifty Million Naira (₦50,000,000) only, payable to the Anambra State government account,” Ujubuonu said.

He emphasized that the fee applies equally to all political parties, including that of the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and is not targeted at any individual or group.

 “What we have done is to maintain professional standards in the use of public advertising. This permit is to ensure orderliness, prevent visual pollution, and create a level playing ground,” he added.

The agency, established by law in 2010, is tasked with regulating outdoor advertising structures and campaign materials to ensure compliance with environmental and public space standards.

The announcement comes as campaigns officially commence, in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines. The Anambra governorship election is scheduled for November 8, 2025, with 16 political parties fielding candidates.
