Mr. Wale Ade-Oba, a member of the Ekiti State Waste Management Board, has resigned his position, citing dissatisfaction with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration, which he described as lacking in meaningful development and direction.
In a statement release by Ade-Oba, he accused the Oyebanji-led government of underperformance, particularly in local government areas like Irepodun/Ifelodun, and lamented what he called a lack of recognition for loyal party members, alleging that political appointments were being handed to opposition members.
“The governor is often out of the state, pursuing unclear agendas, and this absence is felt in the lack of productivity under the present administration,” he stated.
He also criticized the administration’s alleged failure to deliver on campaign promises despite substantial budgetary allocations and pledged support for Engr. Kayode Ojo, the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, whom he described as a visionary leader capable of transforming the state.
“I want to be part of a government that truly serves the people of Ekiti and values the contributions of its loyal supporters,” Ade-Oba said.
The resignation signals growing discontent within the ranks of the ruling party in Ekiti State as political alignments begin to shift ahead of future elections.
