It was an atmosphere of emotion, praise and goodwill messages as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Community Development and Cooperatives, Alh. Fatai Kolawole Ogunlana got a short affectionate valedictory service from colleagues, family and friends.

Commissioner in the Ministry, Hon. Ademola Balogun, joined others to shower encomium on the celebrants during his 60th birthday and retirement from the Civil Service in Abeokuta, commending him for being hard working and committed while in active service.

Hon. Balogun pointed out that the outgone Permanent Secretary, was a very dependable and reliable ally with a high sense of humility and respect, describing him as a responsible, dedicated, humble and loyal civil servant. He said his leadership, vision, and commitment had left an indelible mark on the Ministry and the public service as a whole.

His counterpart from the Ministry of Forestry, Dr. Adekunle Oyesanwe described him as a humble and kind man who was ready to assist anyone who came his way, saying he was a man worthy of emulation.

Speaking, Mr. Akinlade Oyekanmi and Mrs. Abibat Edun praised Alh. Ogunlana for his commitment and love for all, and the State Civil Service, praying that God would continue to grant him good health and fulfilment after service.

Responding, Alh. Fatai Ogunlana who expressed joy, said it was a happy day to witness his 60th birthday and retirement after meritorious years of service, charging staff and members of the management to work with one another, and redouble their productivity and determination to further develop the Ministry.
