The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally acknowledged the application of the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) to be registered as a political party in Nigeria.

In a letter dated June 27, 2025, and signed by INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony, the Commission confirmed receipt of ADA’s application, which was submitted by the party’s Protem National Chairman on June 19, 2025.

“The Commission is processing your application in line with the provision of Part 1, clause 2(ii) of our Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties, 2022,” the letter stated.

This correspondence marks the first official communication between INEC and the promoters of ADA. The move comes amid increased political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections, with INEC revealing that it has received 110 applications from various groups seeking political party registration.

Sources suggest the ADA is being formed as part of a broader opposition coalition aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027.
