The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized Governor Seyi Makinde for proposing to spend ₦63.5 billion on the renovation of the Agodi Government House.

In a statement signed by the APC Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Olawale Sadare, and made available to the press on Sunday, the party described the plan as "financial recklessness" and a misplaced priority.

The project is deemed a waste of public resources, especially during a period of economic hardship.

The APC questioned the need for such expenditure since the same facility was renovated by late Governor Abiola Ajimobi in 2017.

The party accused Governor Makinde of ignoring public concerns, mismanaging funds, and trying to mask corruption under the guise of infrastructure upgrades.

It referenced past controversies, including the alleged overpriced printing of exercise books in 2019, as part of a pattern of questionable spending.

The APC called on Governor Makinde to cancel the renovation plan and focus instead on projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.
