The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored electricity to the six states in the Northeast, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, and parts of Borno, after nearly nine days of blackout.
According to TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah, the restoration followed the successful energizing and integration of the new Bauchi 330/132kV transmission substation into the national grid through the Jos-Bauchi-Gombe 330kV and 132kV lines.
The newly connected substation, one of the largest in the region, is expected to:
enhance power reliability, diversify transmission routes, and improve emergency power response.
Electricity supply to the region resumed at 4:45 p.m. on June 19, 2025, benefiting customers under the Jos and Yola Electricity Distribution Companies.
TCN expressed appreciation for the public’s patience during the prolonged outage.
