2027: Nigeria Will Be Dead, Buried If Tinubu Wins — Amaechi Warns

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has issued a strong warning to Nigerians against re-electing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general election, claiming that another term under the current administration could spell doom for the nation, DAILY POST reports.

Speaking in Port Harcourt during a meeting with members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Rivers State, Amaechi expressed grave concern over the direction of the country under President Tinubu’s leadership.

According to Amaechi, who is also a former governor of Rivers State, “Nigerians are already complaining under Tinubu’s first tenure; imagine what a second term would look like. Then, you’ll be dead and buried.”

He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of fostering hardship and urged Nigerians to mobilize for change, starting with voter registration and grassroots engagement.

“We are new members of the ADC — it’s the adopted party of our coalition,” he said. “Most importantly, have your eyes on 2027. Go home and start registration. We will form a committee that will go from local government to local government, ward to ward, to ascertain the number of people we have.”

Amaechi also called out electoral malpractice in Rivers State, lamenting that the state had become “notorious for writing results.” He urged the coalition members to fight such practices and ensure credible elections.

“When they say results have already been written, it discourages voters from coming out. We must encourage people to come out and vote to remove this government — or we will all die of hunger,” he warned.

Amaechi's remarks come amid growing discontent over economic conditions and governance, even as the political landscape begins to shift in anticipation of the 2027 elections.
