Governor Uba Sani to Northerners: Don’t Blame Tinubu for Decades-Old Problems - The Alternative News

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has urged Northern Nigerians not to blame President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the deep-rooted challenges facing the region, saying such issues have persisted for over two decades and predate the current administration.

Speaking at the two-day interactive session organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna, Governor Sani emphasized that while President Tinubu holds a duty to address the North’s concerns, it would be unfair and politically deceptive to hold him solely responsible for problems resulting from years of policy failures, weak governance, and neglect.

“Blaming President Tinubu, who has barely been in office for just two years, ignores the complex history and systemic failures that span multiple governments and political actors,” Sani said.

He defended Tinubu’s administration, stating that the President has shown clear commitment to the North, delivering results in security, education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, and social inclusion.

According to Sani, although much work remains, the administration has made bold, tangible progress and is on the right path.

The governor’s remarks come amid increasing scrutiny from parts of the North over the Tinubu administration’s performance. Sani’s message reinforced calls for patience and constructive engagement, rather than politically motivated blame.
