At least five worshippers were killed and three others injured when armed bandits attacked a church meeting at Kampani village in Maro, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident occurred on Friday, July 11, around 3:30 p.m., during a gathering of members of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA).

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who posted the details on X (formerly Twitter), a distress call was made around 9:20 p.m., prompting a rapid response by a joint team of police and other security agencies.

The deceased were identified as Victor Haruna, Dogara Jatau, Luka Yari, Jesse Dalami, and Bawu John. All were confirmed dead after being rushed to the hospital.

Those injured, Samuel Aliyu, Philip Dominic, and Jacob Hussaini, sustained gunshot wounds and are currently receiving treatment.

Security agencies have launched an operation to track down and apprehend the perpetrators of the attack.
