Land Waiver Allegations: Wike’s Aide Challenges Senator Kingibe to Present Evidence - The Alternative News

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has fired back at FCT Senator Ireti Kingibe over her recent allegations of corrupt land allocations in the FCT.

Kingibe, in a televised interview on Arise TV, alleged that Minister Wike illegally allocated prime Abuja lands to his sons and granted suspicious waivers on title land bills—slashing fees from ₦200 million to ₦2 million within 48 hours. She claimed to possess documentary evidence of these transactions.

In a sharp rebuttal posted on Facebook, Olayinka dismissed the senator’s claims and challenged her to release the documents publicly and submit them to anti-graft agencies. “Responsible and serious people don’t go on national TV to say ‘I have evidence of corruption.’ They release it to the public and relevant authorities,” he wrote.

Referring to Kingibe as an “accidental senator” and “Madam Impersonator,” Olayinka criticized her for allegedly using Wike’s name to maintain political relevance, while making reference to her estranged marital ties to the late politician Baba Gana Kingibe.

“The Senate seat she got accidentally in 2023 won’t be retained in 2027 using Wike as a launchpad,” he added.

As of now, Senator Kingibe has not published the alleged documents, but she insists she is prepared to substantiate her claims. The FCT Ministry has not issued a formal response beyond Olayinka’s statements.
