The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a woman, Augustina Mowari, for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death during a domestic dispute over suspected infidelity.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. According to reports, an argument broke out between the couple over allegations of cheating, which escalated into violence. In the heat of the altercation, Augustina allegedly stabbed Michael in the leg with a pair of scissors.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, said that "There was an argument between the two, which led to the suspect stabbing the victim with scissors. He later died in the hospital. The suspect is in our custody, and the case will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.”

Sources close to the couple revealed that they had been cohabiting in a one-room apartment and were known to have frequent disputes, mostly centered around trust and allegations of infidelity.

According to the source, “The lady accused Michael of cheating on her with another woman, which led to a heated argument. She brought out a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the leg.”

Michael was initially treated and discharged from a nearby hospital. However, his condition worsened at home as his leg became swollen. He was rushed back to the hospital on Sunday night but, sadly, died despite medical efforts.

The police have launched a full investigation into the matter, and the suspect is expected to be charged to court once inquiries are concluded.
