Usyk Knocks Out Dubois to Become Undisputed Heavyweight Champion - The Alternative News

Ukrainian boxing star Oleksandr Usyk cemented his place in history on Saturday night by defeating Britain's Daniel Dubois with a fifth-round knockout at Wembley Stadium to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

Usyk, 38, dropped Dubois early in the fifth round and sealed the victory just 1 minute and 52 seconds in with his signature left hook, leaving Dubois unable to beat the referee’s count. With the win, Usyk added the IBF title to his existing WBA, WBC, and WBO belts, completing a sweep of the major heavyweight titles.

The victory also extended Usyk’s perfect professional record to 24 wins, reinforcing his legacy as one of boxing’s all-time greats.

In a moment of celebration after the bout, Usyk knelt in the ring and playfully reminded fans: “38 is a young guy, remember!”

The triumph marks a new era in the heavyweight division, with Usyk now holding all four major titles, a rare feat in boxing history.
