Esther Okoronkwo was named Woman of the Match following Nigeria’s Super Falcons' convincing 3–0 victory over Tunisia on Sunday night at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
Coach Justine Madugu’s side kicked off their campaign in style, with goals from Asisat Oshoala, Omorinsola Babajide, and substitute Chiwendu Ihezuo sealing the win.
Okoronkwo, who replaced Babajide at the start of the second half, impressed with her technical brilliance, vision, and smooth link-up play. The 28-year-old striker came close to getting on the scoresheet herself, rattling the crossbar in the 68th minute.
Despite not scoring, her impact was undeniable, earning her the Woman of the Match award.
Okoronkwo has now registered six goals in 15 appearances for the Super Falcons, further solidifying her place as a key figure in Nigeria’s attacking setup.
