The Ojora of Ijora and Iganmu, Oba AbdulFatai Oyegbemi, has dethroned six traditional chiefs for attending a Labour Party campaign event in Apapa without his knowledge or approval.

In a palace meeting, the monarch said the chiefs not only breached palace protocol by failing to seek consent but also impersonated him at the political event.

The affected chiefs include:Chief Taiwo Hassan (Bale Oke Ira), Chief Saliu Biliamin, (Bale Alafia Dodoro), Chief Lateef Ojora (Bale Alaba Oro), Chief Idris Ojora (Bale Abule Kere), Chief Sule Balogun (Balogun of Abule Kere), and 

Chief Hakeem Oseni (Bale Mosafejo Amukoko)

A statement from the palace said the action was taken to preserve order and coherence in the traditional leadership structure.
