Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has reportedly married a fourth wife, identified as Hiqma, in a private ceremony held over the weekend in Abuja.
The event, described as low-key, was reportedly attended by close family members and associates. As of press time, Bello has not issued an official statement regarding the marriage.
Confirmation of the union came on Monday via a post on Instagram by his third wife, Hafiza Yahaya Bello, who publicly welcomed the new bride into the family.
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! 🤗❤️ A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! 🙏 May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. 💕 Amin!” Hafiza wrote.
The former governor, who served two terms as Kogi State’s helmsman from 2016 to 2024, has remained a prominent figure in Nigerian political and social circles.
While the marriage has sparked reactions online, many have commended the family’s openness and unity. The new bride, Hiqma, has yet to make a public appearance or statement.
