Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has dismissed rumours suggesting he plans to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement released on Sunday by his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, Zulum described the reports, which emerged on social media, as “fictitious, mischievous, and politically motivated”. He attributed them to desperate individuals seeking attention and relevance.
“This is entirely false and exists only in the imagination of its sponsors,” Zulum said, adding that those behind the rumours have made no meaningful contribution to Borno State or the country.
The governor reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the APC, stating that his focus remains on the development and rebuilding of Borno State.
“Our hands are full with the noble task of rebuilding and developing our dear state,” he said. “We remain resolute in our commitment to serving Borno State under the banner of our great party, the APC.”
Zulum urged the public to disregard the rumour and rely on official sources for accurate information.
