The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered the arrest of one of its dismissed staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, after he was seen participating in a matchmaking programme hosted on social media by popular entertainer Lege Miami.
In a statement released on Monday via its official X handle, the EFCC said Folarin, who served as a driver at the Commission’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was dismissed for forging his academic credentials. Despite his dismissal, he allegedly retained some official property belonging to the agency, including an identity card.
“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, condemns in the strongest terms, the involvement of one of its former staff, Olakunle Alex Folarin, in a matchmaking programme running on Lege Miami’s social media platforms,” the statement read.
The Commission explained that EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has directed security operatives to arrest Folarin for failing to return EFCC property in his possession.
It further warned that Folarin’s post-dismissal activities should not be linked to the agency.
“The public is advised against associating Folarin’s conduct after his dismissal with the EFCC,” the statement added.
