The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, setting the total cost of nomination and expression of interest forms at ₦50 million.
The revised timetable, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, was made public on Tuesday.
According to the schedule, the process will commence with the issuance of a formal notice to the state chapter on Friday, July 26, 2025. The sale of nomination and expression of interest forms will begin on Monday, August 26, and end on Friday, August 30, 2025.
The expression of interest form will cost ₦10 million, while the nomination form is fixed at ₦40 million, bringing the total fee to ₦50 million.
However, female aspirants and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will be exempted from paying for the nomination form and will only be required to pay ₦10 million for the expression of interest.
In a bid to encourage youth participation, the party announced a 50 percent discount on the nomination form for aspirants aged 25 to 40, reducing the total payment for them to ₦30 million. Delegate forms will be sold at ₦5,000.
The APC also outlined other key dates in the election process. Membership register updates will be carried out from Monday, July 29 to Friday, August 9, while the deadline for submission of completed forms is set for Thursday, September 11.
Screening of aspirants will take place on Tuesday, September 23, with results to be published the following day. Aspirants wishing to challenge the outcome of the screening will have the opportunity to file appeals on Thursday, September 25.
The ward congress to elect delegates is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, with appeals to be heard on Monday, September 29.
The party’s governorship primary election will hold on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, and any appeals arising from the primary will be concluded by Thursday, October 2.
The APC emphasized that only financial members whose membership has been active for at least three months prior to the release of the timetable will be eligible to participate in the process.
Nomination forms will be available at the party’s Directorate of Organisation at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. Interested members are advised to make enquiries through the contact details provided in the official notice.
