The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has advised air travellers to channel their complaints and concerns to the appropriate agencies and stakeholders operating within airports for quicker resolution of issues.

In an advisory issued on Sunday by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, and shared on FAAN’s official social media platforms, the authority explained that airports function as ecosystems involving multiple agencies and private partners.

FAAN noted that while it is responsible for building and maintaining airport infrastructure as well as managing safety and security, other specialised services fall under different organisations.

The advisory highlighted the key stakeholders under the Ministry of Aviation that passengers should engage when necessary, including: Airline operators, Concessionaires and business owners, Ground handlers and service providers, and Security agencies.

According to FAAN, passengers who report issues such as flight delays, lost baggage, commercial disputes, or security concerns directly to the responsible agencies stand a better chance of getting swift and effective responses.

The authority further urged travellers to make use of official government and airline complaint channels, warning that relying on unofficial sources could lead to delays or misinformation.

“Next time an issue comes up, always check which agency or stakeholder is responsible—it helps you get faster solutions and better service,” FAAN stated.
