Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday presided over a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with several state governors in attendance.

Among those present were the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.

Other governors in attendance included those of Zamfara, Jigawa, Lagos, Anambra, Gombe, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Benue, and Ondo States, as well as the Sole Administrator representing Rivers State.

The NEC meeting was held shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja earlier in the day following his state visit to Brazil.
