NAF Airstrikes Kill 35 Terrorists Near Nigeria–Cameroon Border - The Alternative News

At least 35 terrorists have been neutralised after Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets launched precision airstrikes on their convergence point near the Nigeria–Cameroon border.

The insurgents were reportedly massing to launch an attack on ground troops stationed at Kumshe in Borno State before they were struck in the early hours of Saturday, August 23.

NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, who confirmed the operation in a statement, said the strikes were conducted following multiple intelligence reports which identified four assembly points of the terrorists.

“Following the operation, communication was re-established with ground troops, who confirmed that the situation around their location had been stabilised,” he stated.

Ejodame added that the successful operation underscores the NAF’s commitment to providing close air support for ground forces while also disrupting terrorist logistics and movement corridors across the North-East border regions.

He further disclosed that the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has commended the aircrew for their professionalism, stressing that the NAF will sustain aggressive and intelligence-driven operations until terrorist elements threatening Nigeria’s sovereignty are completely degraded.
