Ogun Central Senatorial CDC Inagutates New Executives

The Community Development Committee (CDC) for the Senatorial District has inaugurated a new set of executives to pilot the affairs for the next three years.

The inauguration was held at Obadara Hall, Olomore, Abeokuta, where stakeholders gathered to witness the smooth transition of leadership and reaffirm their commitment to grassroots development.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Ademola Balogun, emphasized the critical role of the CDC in the realization of Governor Dapo Abiodun's "Building Our Future Together" agenda.

Represented by the Director of Community Development in the Ministry, Mr. Olanrewaju Fayoyin, the Commissioner praised the outgoing executives for laying a solid foundation.

“If not for the groundwork established by our past leaders, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve what we are doing today,” Fayoyin said.

He assured stakeholders that the State ministry office remains open to all, encouraging community members to engage constructively and channel any concerns through appropriate platforms.

Fayoyin further revealed that all elected executives at the State Council, Senatorial, Zonal, and Area CDC levels would be formally certificated by the ministry for proper recognition and documentation. He urged the newly elected leaders to conclude the ongoing Area CDC elections within the month and to effectively utilize officers to drive the organization’s vision.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun CON for his fatherly role and unwavering support as the Grand Patron of the CDC, especially for creating an enabling environment for a transparent electoral process.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Senatorial CDC Chairman, Engr. Funso Ayeni, gave thanks to Almighty God and the community members for entrusting him with leadership.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and promise to follow the good path laid by my predecessor, Alhaji Waheed Adekunle. I will not disappoint you,” he pledged.

Engr. Ayeni also thanked Governor Abiodun for strengthening community structures across the state. He appreciated the ministry’s officials, especially the Hon. Commissioner and the Director, for their intervention during a time when community development structures were at risk of collapse.

In his welcome address, the outgoing Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Adekunle, commended all executive members for their dedication and teamwork, which he said had led to notable successes during his tenure. He called on the community to rally behind the new leadership.

Also speaking, the outgoing Secretary, Engr. Funso Ayeni, expressed appreciation to past and present leaders of the community. He made special mention of Alhaji Ikupoliyi Kolawole, former State Council Chairman, as well as state executive officers, immediate past zonal caretaker chairmen, and ministry officials, for their support and contributions.
