The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspected car thief, Chidi Nwoye, for allegedly using master keys to steal vehicles and tricycles.
Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement on Monday, said operatives attached to Isiowulu Division, working with local vigilantes, intercepted the suspect on August 22 along Minaj Road, Obosi, while driving a stolen tricycle.
Items recovered include a Hyundai Tucson, a tricycle, eight mobile phones, four master keys, a battle axe, ATM cards, a voter’s card, and other exhibits. Ikenga said the suspect confessed to the crime and that investigations had been extended to his hideout for possible recovery of more stolen items.
The command urged victims of recent vehicle or property theft to visit Isiowulu Police Station for identification and recovery. Nwoye will be charged to court after investigations.
